Losing Streak

from Losing Streak by Jessi Robertson

about

This song was written early in the pandemic as a lighthearted way to find distractions from the social isolation. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Color of Change and The Trevor Project.

lyrics

I woke up this morning I got nothing to wear,
I thought, "Why do I care? Nobody’s there."
I put on the coffee and I fussed with my hair.
I got nothing to wear, why do I care?

I dance all night with bare feet,
pour a drink put my favorite song on repeat.
My neighbors think I’m a freak.
I know how to make the best of a losing streak.

I put on my prom dress let it drag on the floor.
I may be out of practice but I’m never a bore.
Did my face like Bowie’s, painted up for the war.
Checked a dozen times but no one’s at the door.

I dance all night with bare feet,
pour a drink put my favorite song on repeat.
My neighbors think I’m a freak.
I know how to make the best of a losing streak.
